The Sovereignty Alliance for European Network Technology (SAFENet) has expanded its membership with the addition of five companies from four different countries. The new members, Genexis, IPmotion, MB connect line, Teldat, and Waystream, bring a diverse range of strengths to the alliance, which was founded just a few weeks ago.
Genexis, based in the Netherlands and Sweden, specializes in fibre termination and home networking solutions. IPmotion, a German manufacturer, develops mobile internet access and router solutions for transportation and public safety applications.
MB connect line, also based in Germany, focuses on secure remote access solutions for industrial operators, while Teldat, located in Spain, offers router, SD-WAN, 5G, and cybersecurity solutions for businesses and critical infrastructure. Waystream, based in Sweden, develops access switches and routers for municipal networks and network operators in Northern and Central Europe.
The alliance’s shared goal is to ensure that European network technology is given the weight it deserves in Brussels and national capitals, as well as to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty. This development will have a significant effect on Europe’s digital infrastructure, as it brings together companies with expertise in various areas of network technology, potentially leading to more robust and resilient digital infrastructure.
